Hi, I'm Lee Shing Yen from Melaka and I am a full-time financial advisor here at Prudential.
I don’t have a college degree as I have only completed high school which is SPM but I don’t think that limits my earning capabilities at all. I actually believe that I’m doing much better without one. I started working at a young age but I didn’t start with the finance and insurance industry, I have already tried out a couple of jobs like retailing, part-time at furniture fair, and 6 years in telecommunication industry. Then one day, I realized that the career path that I’m taking right now suits me much more than the others ever did and so I transitioned over.
Compared to my previous jobs, I feel like this career has much more potential as I was limited by my monthly salary then but now I have more time and am able to make even more as long as I put more effort into it. It’s basic maths, total earnings divided by time. I feel like I’m getting a much better deal out of this than I ever did with those other companies.
I hope that one day, I’ll be able to attain financial freedom and travel the world and have fun adventures everyday. It’s also my dream to be able to help more people because while working here, I have seen lots of people who need help everyday so I hope that I’ll be able to assist them one day by teaching them about finance. I am willing to drive long distances to help out anyone who is in need despite my living in Malacca. Sometimes I look back on the days when I didn’t know this much but now after joining as a full time financial advisor, I noticed that I have learned a lot and I now wish to share this knowledge with everyone I know by being a purveyor of expert financial services.
